A fundamentally new model of pulsed sources is being prepared for industrial use

The new line of pulse electromagnetic sources of the "N20" series will be used already in the current field season. This was announced by the President of JSC "GEOTEK" Roman Panov at a meeting on the expansion of production capacities of the special geophysical equipment plant "Impulse", which was held on October 10 at the Tyumen branch of the company.

The new model of pulse sources is GEOTEK's own development with completely domestic components. Pulse sources are used to perform a full range of seismic exploration work, including MOGT-2D/3D, VSP, MSC in various geological and geographical conditions. The design of the "N20" sources provides a higher power of the seismic signal without a significant increase in mass and dimensional characteristics.

The peculiarity of the new model is that the force impact on the ground half-space is increased by 1.5 times compared to analogs due to the use of electromagnets with high efficiency. The "N20" sources operate in the area of elastic deformations, without destroying or exerting strong specific pressure on the soil, which allows expanding the scope of their application in frozen water areas in winter.

As Roman Panov noted: "The release of a fundamentally new model of pulse sources is part of the program of Geotek JSC for the production of high-tech equipment to meet the needs of key customers in the oil and gas industry."

In the current field period, the "N20" will be used to perform work under two contracts with a total volume of 2.5 thousand linear kilometers in the Timan-Pechora and West Siberian regions. But in the near future, a multiple increase in the scale of their use is planned.
