The main activity of JSC "SNGF" is the realization of geophysical works (seismic and field geophysical) in the Russian Federation and abroad with the aim to search and explore oil and gas fields, provide a detailed study of the geological structure of commissioned fields and growth insurance of oil and gas resources.
JSC "Stavropolneftegeofisika" has all the necessary technical and methodological tools and software, the professionals and workers needed to conduct full-seismic surveys, including the methods of 2D and 3D seismic spatial, high-resolution seismic data (WMD) and scattered seismic waves (SLBO).
There are three mobile seismic crews as part of "SNGF" in the Stavropol Territory that have capabilities of performing seismic work CDP-2D and 3D on the territory of Central and Southern Russia. One of them is equipped with explosive source excitation of elastic waves and two with vibrators.
There is also a branch located in the Nizhnevartovsk. The branch has two seismic crews that are also equipped with the necessary special inventory, facilities, equipment, trained personnel to perform the seismic 2D, 3D using explosive sources of elastic waves in Western Siberia in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district, Tomsk and Omsk regions.
«Input/Output-4», «Input/Output-4-Scorpion» «Input / Output Image», «Input/Output-2», «Sercel» (SN 388) are used for recording seismic signals.
Recording systems and vibration sources are used for the seismic surveys, characteristics of which are matched internally and are in accordance with the published data. The definitive admission of recording and measuring equipment is based on test records, which were themselves provided by instructions for the use of equipment and the facilities, and is signed off by a specially appointed commission.
To provide for the repair and the calibration of the geophysical instruments and equipment, as well as for maintaining its condition, there is a central laboratory (CL) equipped with the necessary instrumentation and staffed with qualified personnel.
During the field work, regular maintenance checks of seismic instruments and equipment are held (daily, monthly and after repair works). The results of inspections of the technical conditions and the parameters of field equipment are registered in appropriate journals and supported by reports and printouts of hardware checks.
For the operational monitoring of seismic field data and adjustment of the profiles’ location, at the request of Customer, "SNGF" can carry out monitoring in the field environment on the basis of the mini-processing complex FNE, using the processing algorithm OGT with the issuance of the preliminary time sections and the attributes of seismic record.
OJSC "Stavropolneftegeofisika" has come a long way in developing organizational and legal forms of management in geophysical companies, part of the former Ministry of Oil Industry of the USSR, the "Stavropolneftegeofisika" trust, organized on the basis of two geophysical firms from January 1, 1969 by order № 614 of 31.12.1968, to industrial association starting with December 30, 1987 order № 330 dated 10.12.1987 and then was converted into a public company under the order № 39 dating from 10.05.1994.
From its earliest days, "Stavropolneftegeofisika" firmly established itself in the market of geophysical services in the North Caucasus and the Lower Volga regions amongst such powerful companies as "Grozneftegeofisika", "Krasnodarneftegeofisika", "Volgogradneftegeofisika" Astrakhan Geophysical Expedition and "Zapprikaspiygeofisika."
“Stavropolneftegeofisika’s” parties and specialists, performing their international duty, have successfully worked abroad in India, Iran, Peru and Bulgaria.
“SNGF” began to carry out CDP-2D seismic work in the Stavropol region and the Republic of Kalmykia in 1971 using explosives and pulsed excitation sources.
"SNGF started performing CDP-3D Seismic works in the Stavropol Territory in 1979. The main objective of special seismic work is the prediction of the spatial seismic zoning of the collectors. The result of these works was the discovery of oil deposits in the carbonate sediments of the Lower Triassic in the Kochetovskaya, Pravdinskaya, Arsenovskoy, Middle, South-Povarkovskoy territories.
Since 2000, the spatial work is being conducted on the Russian Platform to prepare facilities for the search of oil deposits in the carbonate-terrigenous rocks of Carboniferous and Devonian sediments (Saratov, Orenburg region).
Spatial work is being conducted by the "cross" method using multi-channel seismic telemetry «Input/Output-4», «Input/Output-4-Scorpion» «Input / Output Image», «Input/Output-2» and «Sercel» ( SN 388).
Currently the geography of these works has been substantially expanded into such areas as the Krasnodar region, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, Karachai-Cherkessia, Dagestan, Ingushetia and Bashkortostan, Saratov, Orenburg region and Western Siberia. This broad customer geography with a variety of seismological conditions for the conduction of seismic research is evident of the strong professional reputation of our organization.
"SNGF" now has 5 seismic crews.
There are three mobile seismic crews in the Stavropol region capable of performing CDP-2D and 3D seismic works in the middle and the south of Russia:
• One of them is equipped with explosive excitation sources for elastic vibrations. The blast hole is created by self-propelled drilling rigs URB-2, 5A on KAMAZ- 4310 chassis and URB-2A2 on ZIL 131 and ZIL URAL 4320 chassis with flushing fluid (water).
• Two seismic crews are equipped with vibration complexes. CV-27/150K on the KAMAZ chassis and SV-14/150 on the Ural-4320-31 chassis, with the Advance III Vibro (Pelton Co. Ind.) control system are used for the excitation of elastic waves.
In Western Siberia, there is a SNGF company branch located in Nizhnevartovsk, for seismic works CDP-2D, 3D in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district, Tomsk and Omsk regions. The branch has two seismic crews equipped with all the necessary special inventory, facilities, equipment and trained personnel to carry out seismic surveys using explosive sources of excitation of elastic waves. Well drilling is implemented by AR-2 and UBL-1K-based MTLBU and machines AR-2-1 UBGM hauled tractors T-170.
For recording seismic signals, telemetry systems are used:- I / O - 4 (2200 channels); I / O - 4 Scorpion (700 channels); I / O Image (4500 channels); I / O System 2 (480 channels), SN-388 (1000 channels), seismic station Progress-A and SGD-SEL/12B for MPV and MSK works. Recording systems and vibration sources are allowed for seismic surveys, characteristics of which are matched internally and are in accordance with the published data. The definitive admission of recording and measuring equipment is based on test records, which were themselves provided by instructions for the use of equipment and the facilities, and is then signed off by a specially appointed commission. The stock company conducts all types of geophysical studies in complex temperature and pressure conditions (temperature up to 200 º C and pressures up to 1200 atm.), 2D and 3D seismic work, experimental methodology and case studies. We have a wide experience of work in different climates and landscapes and under different geological conditions. From mountains and foothills (in the Republic of Dagestan, Karachai-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria) and from Caucasus to Perm and Western Siberia.
The team of experts of JSC consists mainly of former graduates of the Grozny Oil Institute and the Institute of Petroleum in Moscow.
