The largest branch of JSC GEOTEK, Tyumenneftegeofizika, celebrated its 60th anniversary since the enterprise was created in the format of a geophysical trust by the order of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR in 1964. The creation of Tyumenneftegeofizika is the most important event in the history of the development of the GEOTEK company and the entire Russian seismic exploration.

Since its foundation, the trust has included the Surgut, Shaim, Megion, Berezovskaya field geophysical offices, the West Siberian geophysical expedition, and the Tyumen geophysical repair and assembly office. The created association was tasked with conducting field geophysical research in oil production areas, as well as detailed seismic exploration work for additional exploration of fields being brought into development.

Over all these years, the enterprise has come an incredible way, during which the most important issues of equipping with geophysical equipment and technology, as well as creating the infrastructure necessary for field geophysical parties, were resolved.

The technologies and competencies of the branch have developed, improved and are currently unique in the seismic exploration industry. The geography of the branch's work includes Western and Eastern Siberia, Timan-Pechersk and Volga-Ural provinces, the transit zone of the shelf of the Russian Federation, as well as the territories of Kazakhstan and other countries.

From the very beginning, the company's team was formed from highly qualified professionals, capable of starting industrial seismic exploration from scratch in the harshest climatic conditions of the Siberian regions. Dedicated specialists of the Tyumenneftegeofizika branch, striving for innovation and tirelessly improving their competencies are the real driving force of the company.

GEOTEK is currently one of the leading oilfield service companies on the Russian market, included in the list of systemically important organizations of the fuel and energy complex. The total number of employees of the company is more than 4.5 thousand people. Since 2010, when the company was finally formed through the merger of the largest Russian geophysical companies, GEOTEK has performed 2D seismic exploration on land and in transit zones in the amount of more than 82 thousand linear km and about 2 million physical observations, 3D seismic exploration in the amount of about 127 thousand km2 and 12 million physical observations. Tyumenneftegeofizika's contribution to the total volume amounted to more than 20% for various types of seismic exploration.
